New York, NY - October 18, 2016 - On October 1, 2016 the Black Public Relations Society-New York (BPRS-NY) announced the launching of its 2016-2017 membership drive. BPRS-NY is a 501c3 Non-for-Profit organization in New York State.
BPRS-NY was recently featured on Huffington Post as one of three non-for-profits in NY State Making a Difference and on Huffington Post story Black Newspapers And Communication Professionals Critical to Chronicling Current History of African Americans.
Membership - Black Public Relations Society applicants must be engaged in a full-time paid professional career of public relations. This should include, but is not limited to, working for either private or public sectors in the following areas: media relations, public affairs, community affairs, publicity, public information, special events management and development, lobbying, and internal, employee and organizations communications. Also, professional membership is available to those engaged in the teaching or administering of public relations courses at an accredited college or university.
Student applicants must be currently enrolled in a public relations/communications program at an accredited college or university.
BPRS-NY looks forward to continuing to be a pillar with the Urban Network in the Tri-State area fulfilling its mission of creating opportunities for multi-cultural professionals in the communication area. Our goal is to continue to advocate for Black Professional in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Government Affairs, Community Relations, and other related fields.
