Howdy Neighbors! I'm another year older and another year...wiser? Hmmmmm.
We made it through June and now we're getting ready to celebrate the 4th of July! Yee Haa!!!!!
Is anyone planning a block party this year?
Did you know you can have Karaoke at your block party? There are many KJ's who will set up and work at your block party, graduation party, wedding or any other occasion where you and your friends want to get together and have some fun!
It's something to keep in mind with the summer
party season just starting.
Last weekend I went to an old favorite Karaoke place of mine. The KJ was Jimmy B. He's one of the KJ's that can run your Karaoke party! If you want to know how to contact him, drop me a line @:
Karaoke@LongIsland.com
Jimmy came up with a fun Karaoke term,
"Scaryoke" (Pronounced:Scarey-Okie)
What this is, is that you get up to sing and have No Clue as to
what
you're gonna sing! * YIKES! *
It's a neat way to try out new songs though!
John and I went out singing on wednesday night and we had a similar thing happen to us. When we finished the song we requested, KJ Tom told us to stay where we were and to sing the next song on the CD! John and I must have looked mighty funny as we went into a momentary panic attack...
We managed to fumble through the song and had some good laughs about it! Then, He Did It Again! We were told to Stay Put! EEEEEK! This time we really impressed ourselves, I think we were starting to get the hang
of this Scaryoke type of singing! I also think we've found a new song to sing!
Sometimes when you're faced with a BIG binder Filled with songs, you get a bit overwhelmed as to what to sing. You're like a kid in a candy store and can't just pick out a few! I like this new way of chosing songs to sing...well, as long as the KJ is kind and will choose a song she/he knows is within your range!!! I would hate to get up there and find out I'm singing Tiny Tim's
"Tip toe through the tulips"! UGH!
Though I'm sure John would be psyched to find he was singing
"Tomorrow" from Annie!
(The sun will come out tomorrow...) Just kidding John! ;-P
If you're already an old hand at Karaoke, why not suggest to Your
favorite KJ that you try this some night?
It sure can break things up and it's always fun to try new material!
