British-American singer, songwriter, musician, and former Long Islander Billy Idol will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, January 6.
Born in England, 67-year-old Idol, whose given name is William Broad, moved to the United States when he was two years old living on Conklin Avenue in Patchogue and then in Rockville Centre, before returning to England four years later. The award-winning rock icon, known for hits including “White Wedding,” “Mony Mony,” “Dancing With Myself, “Rebel Yell,” and “Cradle of Love,” will be the first person in 2023 to receive the Hollywood Walk of Fame star honor. His star will be dedicated at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard and will be the 2,743rd star on the historic Los Angeles, California landmark.
In a Walk of Fame press release, Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame said, “There will be lots of rebels yelling for their favorite rock star Billy Idol when he receives his well-deserved Walk of Fame star . . . Since the beginning of his career Billy Idol has held the hearts of many of his fans who finally will be able to visit his star and witness his induction into the Walk of Fame.” The event will be streamed live exclusively at walkoffame.com.
