The third Monday of January is the day observed to commemorate the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King fought to achieve equality and justice for all Americans of all colors.
As a federal holiday observed as a national day of services, see how you can honor Dr. King’s legacy through service and volunteering or help educate the younger generation about Dr. King’s life and his vision for peace and change. There are numerous events happening across the Island.
Dr. King is also a major figure to remember for Black History Month, or National African American History Month coming up in February.
