The Fifth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Valley Stream on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 3:25 pm.
 
According to detectives, a 16-year-old male victim was walking on Hawthorne Avenue in the vicinity of the train station when he was approached by five unknown male subjects. One of the subjects took a swing at the victim while displaying a silver knife. The victim fearful was able to break free from the subjects after a brief struggle leaving behind a back pack, cell phone and sneakers that came off his feet after running away. The subjects fled on foot in an unknown direction with the proceeds. There were no injuries reported. The investigation is ongoing.
 
The subjects are described as male, Hispanic, medium build, dark colored clothing, and black face masks.
