It may be the middle of winter, but if you drive past 330 Fulton Street in Farmingdale, you just might think it was closer to October 31. A faux graveyard, eerie music, and photo-op-ready benches adorned with Frankenstein and his bride, mark Haunted House of Hamburgers, a year-round theme restaurant destination for lovers of the spooky and macabre.

Family-friendly fun, food, and frights

As its name suggests, Haunted House of Hamburgers looks like a haunted house inside and out. It’s decorated floor to ceiling, corner to corner, with all-things creepy, from ghosts and goblins, to sinister pumpkins; dark moody lighting adds to the ghoulish ambiance. But it’s not too spooky, as this is a family-friendly place where kids can get 3-D glasses, have a birthday party, indulge in candy-topped ice cream sundaes, and pick up a Halloween sweet on the way out.

Haunted House of Hamburgers serves brunch, lunch, and dinner with plenty of options including “Pitchfork Pancakes,” “Tombstone Tacos,” “Vampire Bat Wings,” and, of course, a large selection of burgers. With unnerving names like “RIPizza burger” and “Tarantula Burger,” the burgers’ ingredients may seem suspect, but rest assured they are made from prime beef – although the vegan Impossible Burger is also on the menu, along with other vegetarian-friendly choices like salads and flatbread pizzas. End your meal with “Chained Up Cheesecake” and, naturally, “Death by Chocolate.”

The 21-and-over crowd can enjoy beer, wine, and variety of crypt keeper drinks such as Grave Digger (Ice, Kahlúa, coffee vodka, and heavy cream), Jack O’Lantern (Ice, Tito's vodka, orange juice, and orange garnish), and many others. Guests can watch a horror flick while sitting at the bar.

Haunted House of Hamburgers is open Monday - Thursday 11:00 am - 9:00 p.m; Friday and Saturday 11:00 am - 10:00 p.m.; and Sunday 11:00 am - 9:00 p.m. It’s located at 330 Fulton Street in Farmingdale. Visit the Haunted House of Hamburgers website or call (516) 777-1031 for more information.
