Chinese New Year is an important Chinese holiday where the Lunar New Year is celebrated. Lunar New Year and Spring Festival are other names of this holiday. The celebration of the New Year is to mark good luck and good fortune for the rest of the year.

Some practices that take place during the Chinese New Year are exchanging of small gifts, giving money in red envelopes, and fireworks.
