The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Valley Stream man for an incident that occurred on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 9:15 AM in Valley Stream.
According to Detectives, Defendant Jonathan Louissaint, 32, unlawfully entered a residence on Forest Avenue and attacked a 24-year-old male, punching him in the face and striking his hand with a metal bar. The defendant then went to a nearby 7-Eleven, located at 100 Sunrise Highway, where he struck a 35-year-old male on the hand with a beer can. The defendant left the store and attempted to enter multiple occupied vehicles in the area, before entering an unoccupied 2020 Hyundai which was parked and running on Rockaway Parkway. He then fled, eventually crashing into a 2020 Toyota occupied by a 29-year-old female and a 64-year-old male on New Hyde Park Road in the vicinity of Auburn Street. He also struck a parked car which then damaged a business sign. While being placed under arrest at the scene of the accident, the defendant became combative and injured an officer by striking him in the face.
The injured officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The two occupants of the Toyota were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. All other victims declined further medical attention.
Defendant Jonathan Louissaint is charged with Burglary 1 st Degree, two (2) counts of Assault 2 nd Degree, Robbery 1 st Degree, two (2) counts of Attempted Robbery 2 nd Degree, Grand Larceny 3 rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1 st Degree, two (2) counts of Attempted Grand Larceny 3 rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4 th Degree and multiple VTL Violations. He will be arraigned on Monday, January 27, 2025 at First District Court, Hempstead.
