Manhasset Macy's Robbery: Undomiciled Suspect Arrested for Assault and Theft, Faces Multiple Charges

The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of an undomiciled man for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 3:01 pm in Manhasset.
 
According to detectives, Defendant William Paek, entered the Macy’s department store located at 1100 Northern Boulevard and a loss prevention officer recognized the defendant from a previous larceny. Loss prevention then observed the defendant place sunglasses from a display case into his front pocket and proceed to exit the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise.
 
The loss prevention officer approached the defendant and a struggle ensued, causing the
store employee to suffer an injury to his right leg. During the altercation, Defendant Paek pulled out the sunglasses and threw them on the floor, damaging the sunglasses.
 
Upon arrival, officers located the defendant in the Macy’s parking lot. He was taken into custody and transported to a local area hospital for evaluation. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
 
Defendant Paek is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Petit Larceny.  He will be arraigned when medically practical.
