Uniondale Man Arrested for Arson After Setting Fire in Warming Center Bathroom
The Arson Bomb Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Arson that occurred on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 8:15 am in Uniondale.
According to detectives, a Nassau County Probation Officer observed there was a working fire inside the men’s bathroom at the Nassau County Warming Center, located at 1 Charles Lindberg Avenue. The officer also observed the defendant Christian M Hall, 33 was standing inside the bathroom alone at the time of the fire.
The officer ordered the defendant to exit out of the bathroom and was able to control the fire with a fire extinguisher. The Third Precinct police along with the Uniondale Fire department also responded to help extinguish the fire.
An investigation revealed that at the time of the fire the defendant was standing in the handicap stall where there was much fire damage to the walls as well as the toilet broken into many pieces. Further investigation determined that the defendant Christian M Hall was responsible for setting the fire inside the bathroom and was placed into police custody by Third Precinct police.
The Nassau County Probation officer was transported in a Nassau County Police ambulance to a nearby hospital and treated for difficulty breathing. Defendant Hall was transported to nearby hospital for evaluation.
Defendant Christian M Hall is charged with Arson 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
