Violent Robbery at Uniondale Gas Station: Suspect Attacks Employee After Card Declined, Flees with Stolen Goods

The First Squad reports the details of a Robbery that occurred on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 1:54 AM in Uniondale.
 
According to Detectives, a male subject walked into the Sunoco Gas Station located at 1220 Hempstead Turnpike. While inside, he tried to purchase a drink and two packs of cigarettes but was unsuccessful due to his credit/debit card being declined. The subject took the drink without paying for it and attempted to leave but was stopped by a 65-year-old male employee.
 
The subject got into a physical altercation with the employee and punched him in the face and chest before pushing him to the ground and kicking him. The subject then took the two packs of cigarettes he attempted to purchase and fled the scene southbound on Cunningham Avenue.
 
The victim was treated on scene by responding Nassau County Police Medics.
 
The subject is described as a male Black in his thirties, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 250 lbs. He was wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie, blue jeans, black shoes and a green backpack.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
