Peruvian Restaurant, Cuzco 41, Opens in Lynbrook

A spot to get Peruvian food opened up in Lynbrook recently in the old Artisan spot. People in the area are cheering the fact that they can get authentic food from Peru right in their neighborhood.

 

The menu includes appetizers like Empanadas with choice of chicken, beef, or cheese ($8), Tamales with choice of chicken or cheese ($8), and Causa Rellena, potato terrine layered with chicken salad and avocado ($12). They also offer Ceviches, a Peruvian dish usually made with fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices like lime or lemon. Their Clasico is made with red onion and rocoto chili served with sweet potato and white corn ($20).

 

Juices include a Chicha Morada, a refreshing cultured homemade sweet juice made from purple corn, along with fruit and spices such as pineapple. green apple, lime, cloves and cinnamon ($3.50).

 

Peruvian specialties include a Camaron Saltado, marinated shrimp sautéed with onions, tomatoes, red bell peppers, cilantro, and signature spices and served on a bed of French fries and a side of white rice ($24).

 

On Yelp, Jovanna A, from Valley Stream, gave it five stars.

 

“Finally a Peruvian restaurant in town,” she exclaimed. “Food very fresh and delicious.”

 

Bruce C, from Lynbrook, also gave it five stars.

 

“Amazing service. Delicious food,” she said. “Definitely recommend if you like Spanish food and are around the area.”
