AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT SUNDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: Nassau, Suffolk, from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Two People Arrested for Selling Vape Products and Alcohol to Minors

Suffolk County Police arrested two individuals for illegally selling vape products and alcohol to minors in North Babylon and Deer Park.

Suffolk County Police today arrested two people for selling vape products and alcohol to minors at businesses in North Babylon and Deer Park.

In response to community complaints, First Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of vape products and alcohol to minors during which two businesses were checked for compliance with the law and violations were found at both.

The following people were charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st and 2nd Degree:

• Ashish Brahmbhatt, 36, of Dix Hills, an employee of Milk N’ Things, located at 1287A Deer Park Ave., North Babylon.

• Sumit Dahiya, 28, of Deer Park, an employee of Speedway, located at 1800 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park.

Brahmbhatt and Dahiya were both issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear for arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
