Suffolk Police Bust Two for Selling Alcohol to Minors in Undercover Compliance Sting
Suffolk County Police yesterday arrested two people for selling alcohol to an underage person during compliance checks at businesses in the Third Precinct.
In response to numerous community complaints, Suffolk County Police Third Precinct Crime Section conducted an investigation into the sale of alcohol to underage people, during which thirteen businesses in Islip, East Islip, West Islip, and Bay Shore were checked for compliance with the law.
During the investigation, officers found two businesses were not in compliance, and the following people were charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree:
• Vikramjit Singh, 20, of South Ozone Park, employed at Mobil Mini Mart, located at 221 West Main St., Bay Shore
• William Byrnes, 64, of Bay Shore, employed at Speedway Mini Mart, located at 210 Islip Ave., Islip
Both men were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
