Suffolk County Police today arrested two employees for possessing illegal gambling machines and two patrons for loitering at a Copiague deli.
In response to numerous community complaints, First Precinct Crime Section officers conducted a compliance check at Sabor Latino Deli, located at 1273 Sunrise Highway, during which officers observed patrons gambling on the premise utilizing illegal gambling machines.
The deli owner, Iris Romero, 44, of Copiague was charged with Possession of Gambling Devices. An employee, 17, was charged with Possession of Gambling Devices, Promoting Gambling and Criminal Nuisance.
Two patrons, Ramon Rosario-Perez, 54, of Brooklyn, and Osbin Chincilla-Garcia, 49, of West Babylon, were charged with Loitering for the Purpose of Gambling.
They are all scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
