Two Vehicles Strike Pedestrian, Flee Scene

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash during which two vehicles fled the scene after striking a pedestrian in Brentwood early this morning.
 
Maria Ramirez was walking southbound on Brentwood Road at the Long Island Rail Road crossing at approximately 3 a.m. when she was struck by a gray sedan and then a blue sedan, both of which fled the scene.
 
Ramirez, 37, of Brentwood, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
