Chupa Chups the Squirrel’s Birthday Bash at Sweetbriar Nature Center

62 Eckernkamp Drive, Smithtown

Sunday, February 26, 1 - 3 p.m.

Join Sweetbriar Nature Center to learn about the great forest regenerators, Eastern Gray Squirrels. Participants will be meeting Chupa-Chups “Chip” and possibly get a peek at some babies in care at the center, while also enjoying games and stories. 

Sweetbriar Nature Center is situated on 54 acres of varied garden, woodland, field and wetland habitats on the Nissequogue River and is home to hundreds of species of plants and animals.

$10/child and $5 for adults, $2 child discount for members. Tickets can be purchased online

Visit Rescued Farm Animals at the Lewis Oliver Farm Sanctuary

Burt Avenue in Northport

 

The beloved Lewis Oliver Farm Sanctuary is a treasured community landmark located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Northport. Bring the kids to enjoy time visiting the farm’s residents – more than 40 rescued animals, including Annabelle the cow, goats, sheep, alpacas, chickens, duck, and more. Hours: 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Monday - Friday. Weekend hours vary depending on volunteer availability. Suggested donation fee of $5.00 per family.

Winter Funcation at the Long Island Aquarium 

431 East Main Street, Riverhead

February 20 – 24, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

 

Drop kids off for some Winter Break Fun at the Long Island Aquarium. Kids 5-11 will tour the Aquarium, including the Butterflies, Bugs & Bees habitat, feed the stingrays, check out the Sea Lion Show, visit the Arcade, watch a movie, make a craft, and more. Your child can attend for a day or two, or the entire week. $200 per week or $50 per day. If booking the full week, call to get the discounted price.

Long Island Game Farm Animal Visit and Free Walk with the Wallabies

489 Chapman Blvd, Manorville

Special Opening Days: February 18-26

Open 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

 

The Long Island Game Farm, a family-friendly destination for more than 50 years, will have special opening days, February 18-26. General Admission includes petting zoo entrance to the Nursery, the Deer Park, the new Wild Play Park as well as exotic and domestic animal stars. See bison, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, birds, and more. Visitors can take a walk through the Farm’s deer forest, and hand-feed friendly deer. There's no fee to enter the enclosure and cups of food can be purchased.

 

Guests can also enjoy a “Walk with the Wallabies” animal encounter, free with regular admission, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Kids will love this opportunity to meet some adorable marsupials, a member of the kangaroo family, up close and personal. Arrive early as space is limited. 

 

During these special days the park is open from 11 am - 3 p.m. Admission prices are as follows:
