The Fifth Squad reports on the arrest of a Brooklyn woman for an Assault that occurred on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. in Valley Stream.
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a 911 call for a larceny in progress at the Walmart located at 77 Green Acres Road. Defendant Destiny Swaby, 28, of Brooklyn was observed grabbing merchandise and exited the store passing all points of purchase.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to place the defendant under arrest. One Officer did sustain an injury during the course of the arrest as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest.
Defendant Swaby is being charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree and Petit Larceny.
She will be arraigned on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
