“You can never have too many pizza places,” says Josh G on Yelp.

 

Josh was referring to the opening of San Marzano Pizza in Lake Ronkonkoma recently. It’s true, when it comes to pizza spots, it seems that for Long Islanders, the more, the merrier with new ones opening faster than a spinning pie.

 

Going into a new construction on Portion Road, San Marzano is cooking up brick oven pizza but they are also serving fresh pasta.

 

Pies include their margherita with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil, extra virgin olive oil ($12), New York cheese ($12), the Forresta with fresh mozzarella, speck prosciutto, arugula, and extra virgin olive oil ($14) and Caprino  with fontina, goat cheese, caramelized onions, shiitake and button mushrooms, roasted garlic, thyme, and white truffle oil ($15) among others.

San Marzano has a sister location in Merrick.
