Over Two Million Air Fryers Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

More than two million air fryers sold at major retailers across the country and online are being recalled.

A recall has been issued for over two million air fryers sold by major retailers and online due to potential hazards that arise when the appliances become too hot to handle.

The announcement was made by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which stated that the air fryers, manufactured by Atekcity under the Cosori brand, pose fire and burn risks as a result of wire connections that can overheat.

The recall comes after over 200 complaints were made about the appliances, with incidents including fires, burns, melting, overheating, and smoking. Among these, there were 10 reports of minor burns and 23 reports of property damage.

The recall affects air fryers sold at various retailers from March 2018 through January 2021. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected air fryers and contact the manufacturer for a refund or replacement.
