Briarcliffe College (Bethpage, NY) - a proprietary college offering career-focused education online and at campus locations in Bethpage, Patchogue and Queens, NY - earlier this month held a meeting of the Board of Trustees to elect officers and welcome a new member.
The following Officers were elected: Chairman, Arthur L. Loeffler, CPA, of Commack, NY and Managing Partner of Loeffler & Company, LLP; Vice-Chairman, Robert A. Carpentier, Esq. of Port Washington, NY and Of Counsel to Albanese & Albanese, LLP; and Secretary, Richard Kruse of Deer Park, NY and President and Founder of ExecuLeaders.
Thomas B. Lally of Smithtown, NY, was nominated and approved as the newest member of the 13-member Board of Trustees. Returning trustees serving two- or three-year terms are: Daniel Kimlicka of Levittown, NY; Peter T. Affatato, Esq. of Massapequa Park, NY, Chairman Emeritus and Attorney at Law; Edward A. Ambrosino, Esq. of North Valley Stream, NY, Attorney at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. and Hempstead Town Councilman; Michael F. Barry of Manhasset, NY and Vice President of Media Relations at Insurance Information Institute; James Fleming of Dix Hills, NY and Owner, First New York Title Agency, Ltd; George Grayeb, Senior VP, Health SBU, Career Education Corporation; Greg Jansen, VP and Associate General Counsel, Career Education Corporation; Francis X. Moroney of Westbury, NY, Attorney at Law and Counsel to State Senator. Edward P. Mangano, Esq. of Bethpage, NY and Nassau County Executive is Trustee Emeritus and George Santiago, Jr., PhD of Bethpage, NY is Ex Officio Member and President of Briarcliffe College.
According to the Briarcliffe College charter, the Board of Trustees is "charged with oversight of the academic affairs of the College, particularly assuring the integrity of academic programs and the conduct of the academic affairs of the College and the adequacy of resources necessary for the proper conduct of such programs." As well, "to review and make recommendations for the College consistent with institutional purpose and mission."
Arthur Loeffler, re-elected to his second term as chairman of the Board, observed: "The members of the Briarcliffe College Board of Trustees willingly volunteer their time to sustain accessibility to a higher education that promotes an individual's future prospects but also emphasizes the importance of each individual's role as citizens within the larger community."
