(Port Jefferson Station, NY) - Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. is celebrating "March Madness." For the month of March, Save-A-Pet is waiving the adoption fee for certain cats and dogs, and offering cat spays and neuters at its neighboring C.L.I.F.F.S. Clinic for the discounted price of $50. The price also includes a rabies and distemper vaccine. (Spays and neuters are by appointment only.)
Each weekend, Save-A-Pet is offering all its animals for adoption at no charge, with an emphasis on different animals each week. The schedule is as follows:
— Mad Catter Tea Party (March 4-6) - free adoptions of all cats over four years old.
— Tail Waggin' Weekend (March 11-13) - free adoptions of all dogs over four years old.
— Lucky Black Cats (March 18-20) - free adoptions of Save-A-Pet's nine lucky black cats.
— "A" List Weekend (March 25-27) - free adoptions of two of Save-A-Pet's "A" list dogs, Amber and Athena, and cats that have been at the shelter for more than one year.
All cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated with a flea preventative and tested for parasites. All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia Virus and the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and all dogs are heartworm tested. All potential adoptees must have approved applications.

Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue Inc. was established in 1994 and is located in Port Jefferson Station. Save-A-Pet works with The Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter to place homeless animals into new homes with loving families.
