Huntington Village is temporarily losing several key parking areas as legendary director Steven Spielberg films scenes for his latest movie, "The Dish."
For the next three days, parking will be prohibited on multiple streets and in municipal lots to accommodate the large-scale production. The Town of Huntington issued advisories and posted signage alerting residents, businesses, and visitors about the parking restrictions.
According to the town, the New Street parking lot and the Chase Bank lot on Woodbury Road will be closed from 6 p.m. on Monday, March 3, through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5. Additionally, parking bans will be in effect on parts of:
- Elm Street
- New York Avenue
- West Carver Street
- Main Street
To help mitigate the impact of these closures, the town is lifting metered parking and passport parking fees in Huntington Village on Tuesday, March 4 so visitors can park for free in other available areas.
Star-Studded Film Production in Huntington
"The Dish" is the latest project from Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, featuring an impressive cast including Emily Blunt, Wyatt Russell (son of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell), Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Josh O’Connor.
The sci-fi thriller, which centers around UFO phenomena, was recently filming in New Jersey before moving production to Long Island.
David Koepp, known for his work on "Jurassic Park", wrote the screenplay, and Universal Pictures is set to release the film in June 2026.
Long Island has long been a hotspot for major film productions, and this latest high-profile shoot is expected to bring excitement—and some temporary inconvenience—to Huntington Village.
