The First Squad reports on a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 4:35 PM in Merrick.
 
According to Detectives, a male subject did walk into the Stop & Shop located at 2160 South Merrick Mall and took several pieces of merchandise. He then attempted to pass all points of purchase and exit the store without paying when an asset protection employee attempted to stop him. A physical altercation occurred in which the subject did bite the victim in his hand, causing a laceration.
 
The subject then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.
 
The subject is described as a black male in his late 40’s, 6’2’’ tall and weighing approximately 260 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black puffy coat, black pants and a black hat.
