Teen Pedestrian Critical After Collision: Third Squad Probes New Cassel Accident

A 17-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in New Cassel, with Third Squad detectives conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Third Squad Detectives are investigation a Vehicular Accident that occurred on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 6:30 pm in New Cassel.
 
According to officers, a male pedestrian, 17, was crossing south to north on Prospect Avenue in the vicinity of Kinkel Street and was struck by a 2009 Honda traveling westbound on Prospect Avenue.
 
The male suffered injuries to his head and chest. He was airlifted by Nassau County Police Helicopter 4 to an area hospital for treatment and is in critical condition.
 
The female operator, 54, was not injured and remained at the scene.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
