Wantagh, NY - March 5, 2015 - The Public Information Office reports the details of an Arrest for Driving While Intoxicated which occurred on Thursday, March 05, 2015 at 3:59 am in Wantagh.
According to police, Highway Patrol Officers were notified by several 911 callers of a blue Volkswagen Jetta driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 135 - Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway near exit 5. Responding officers located the vehicle in the right lane at exit 3, occupied by defendant Claudine Castro, 44, of 657 North Jefferson Avenue, Lindenhurst. After an investigation at the scene, the defendant was placed under arrest without incident. There were no accidents or injuries reported.
Castro is being charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated (BAC +.08), Driving the Wrong Way and Unlicensed Operator. She will be arraigned on Thursday, March 05, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
