Another game, another loss, another bad performance. The Islanders lost their second of the season the expansion Wild last night 4-1.

Champ:

Since no one on the Islanders deserves such an honor, we'll give it to the kid in section 213/214 who danced through the entire commerical break, and was giving a good ovation when all was said and done.

Chump:

Zdeno Chara - He was on the ice for a couple goals and for someone supposedly leading the league in hits, he seemed to come up soft when it was needed most (like in front of the net).

Big trade on the way??

There is word that Mike Milbury is on the verge of making a big trade, possibly involving Zdeno Chara, Kenny Jonsson and/or Mariusz Czerkawski. Lets hope that whatever deal they make they don't overpay (at this point at least). Let's save the overpaying for the offseason when players like Pierre Turgeon become available. There is no point in a "get out of last at all cost" mentality (at least they have the number 1 pick open to them).

Blondie:

Let's hope blondes do have more fun, as Rick Dipietro was sporting a new blonde look courtesy of his chip being picked after the Isles last win. We'll find out come sunday when Ricky should be in goal to take on the Panthers, possibly against the Islanders last "goalie of the future" Roberto Luongo.

Final Word:

Since there was really no players that could be considered player of the game, we'll stick with the nominees for the next Islander coach. The next coach and the prospect of drafting Jason Spezza (or another goalie) are once again what we have to look forward to.
