First Squad Reports Vehicular Accident Involving a Toyota in Baldwin: One in Custody, One at Large, and One Minor Injury Reported.

The First Squad reports the details of a Vehicular Accident that occurred on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 6:16 pm in Baldwin.
 
According to Detectives, while conducting an investigation they attempted to initiate a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at the intersection of West Marshall Street and Virginia Avenue, Hempstead. The vehicle, a 2015 grey Toyota refused to stop and fled the scene. Detectives lost sight of the vehicle and began to canvass for it. A short time later First Precinct officers came upon a two car accident, at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Woodside Avenue, Baldwin. The accident involved the Toyota which had fled the scene and an uninvolved vehicle. The occupants of the Toyota fled the scene on foot. One of the occupants, was placed into police custody in close proximity to the accident. The second occupant was not apprehended. There was one minor injury involved in the auto accident. 
 
The defendant, Tyshawn Cullum, 26, of 1174 Tulsa Street, Uniondale, is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. The return date is Monday, April 3, 2023.
