Hempstead Man Arrested for Armed Robbery of Three Juveniles in Merrick 7-11 Incident

Marquis Jacobs was arrested for robbing three juveniles at knife-point in a Merrick 7-11, facing multiple charges including first-degree robbery.

The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:56 pm in Merrick.
 
According to Detectives, Defendant Marquis Jacobs, 41,  walked into the 7-11 located at 203 Sunrise Highway. The defendant approached three male juveniles, and displayed a knife placing them in fear for their safety.
 
The defendant then forcibly removed the victim’s necklaces and fled scene eastbound on Sunrise Highway.
 
Subsequent to the investigation, Officers located the defendant nearby and placed him under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.
 
Defendant Marquis Jacobs is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and three counts of Menacing 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
