Written by Long Island  |  19. March 2025

Suffolk County Police arrested a Dix Hills man for shooting his father to death in their home this morning.

Police responded to a Seaman Neck Road home at approximately 7:25 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a man hiding in their shed. When police arrived, it was determined the man, Christopher Miller, had been injured in a motor vehicle crash earlier this week and had been recently released from an area hospital.

Officers escorted Miller back to his home, located at 27 Bruno Lane, where they found he had shot his father, John “Jack” Miller, 75, to death before he fled the scene.

Christopher Miller, 43, was charged with Murder 2nd Degree. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the previous car crash and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
