Nassau County homeowners who disagree with their property’s Tentative Assessment Value issued by the county in January 2023 have until April 3 to file an “Application for Correction of Assessment'' with the Assessment Review Commission (ARC). The Tentative Assessed Values issued in January will be the basis for 2024/2025 school taxes and 2025 general taxes.

The Assessment Review Commission (ARC) is an independent agency, separate from the Nassau County Department of Assessment, which is responsible for annually reviewing all applications for correction of assessment filed in Nassau County.

While Nassau has paused updates to property values for a third year, homeowners maintain the right to challenge their assessment if they believe that their property value is too high as compared to similar homes in their neighborhood.
