Fort Salonga Man Arrested for Stabbing in Oyster Bay Cove
The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Fort Salonga man for an incident that occurred on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 5:00 pm in Oyster Bay Cove.
According to detectives, officers responded to an assault in front of a Split Rock Road residence. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the Defendant Matthew Nickerson, 20, was involved in an altercation with a male victim, 24. The defendant displayed a sharp object and stabbed the victim numerous times causing multiple lacerations before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. The victim is listed in stable condition. A short time later, the defendant was located and arrested without incident.
Defendant Matthew Nickerson is charged with Assault 1 st Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
