The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Bronx man for an incident that occurred on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 7:05 pm in East Garden City.
According to Detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to the Roosevelt Field Mall parking lot located at 630 Old Country Road for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed that an unknown male operating a Black Honda Pilot was engaged in a road rage incident with a male victim, 17 and a female victim, 41.
The unknown male then pointed a black firearm at the victim placing him in fear for his life before fleeing scene westbound on Old Country Road. The victim immediately notified police.
After a thorough investigation, officers located the defendant Winston Merrick, 45 and placed him under arrest without incident.
No injuries were reported. A black loaded Glock 26 firearm was recovered.
Defendant Winston Merrick is charged with two counts of Menacing 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
