The Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington is going to the dogs as it screens the 2022-2023 New York Dog Festival on Monday, April 17 at 7 p.m. This traveling film festival features a collection of short films that celebrate the love between dogs, their people, and the animal welfare groups that bring them together. Guests will view music videos, short documentaries, animated stories, and more, including:

The Walkers. A quirky 8-minute documentary from French co-directors Giulia Dussollier and Clara Benoit-Jacoby that follows the relationships between a few women and their dogs, seen only from the canine perspective.

Super Pup. 14-year old director Nathaly Orrego explores the misconceptions about Pit Bulls as she shares the positive experience living with Cocoa, an adopted Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Desperado Dingoes. An animated tale from Connecticut director Phair Elizabeth Hardin about two cowboy dogs who get into an altercation in a saloon after one accuses the other of taking his bone.

The Cinema Arts Centre is located at 423 Park Avenue in Huntington. Film festival admission is $15 for the public and $10 for members. Visit the theatre’s website for more information and to purchase tickets online.
