Explosion Rocks Levittown Home as Firefighters Battle Blaze: Two Injured in Suspicious Residential Fire

The Public Information Office reports the details of a residential fire that occurred on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at 2:15 PM in Levittown.
 
According to Police, Eighth Precinct Officers were dispatched for a fire on Holmes Street and upon arrival did observe a residential building with smoke emanating from inside. The building was empty and multiple fire departments responded. During the process of putting the fire out, an explosion from inside the garage of unknown origins did occur, causing one firefighter to sustain minor injuries. A second firefighter also sustained minor injuries while in the process of extinguishing the fire. Both firefighters were transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment. Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives and Fire Marshals responded to the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
