Categories are Wildlife, Flora and Landscapes. There will be two winners in each of the three age groups: Youth (8-13), Teen (14-17) and Adult (18-21), as well as a "best in show." The awards will be given out during the conference at 7:15 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
"Central Veterinary Associates is proud to sponsor Alley Pond Environmental Center, take part in this photography contest, and increase awareness of our environment," said Dr. John Charos, Chief Operating Officer, Central Veterinary Associates. "The APEC panel and I have reviewed numerous entries for this contest and all of them were very impressive. These entries showed not only these young people's talents, but their eye for nature as well."
The focus of the conference is to highlight the key issues of invasive species, protecting open space and resources, ecological restoration and environmental decision making. There will be two panels comprised of both experts and citizens who will help define the issues of critical concern and who will speak about their own work and views on possible solutions to these issues.
