Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Patchogue this morning.
 
Alyssa G. was driving a 2010 Kia Sportage through the parking lot of Heatherwood House at Patchogue, located at 99 Waverly Ave., when her vehicle struck Ida Papik at approximately 6:50 a.m. Papik, 73, of Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was  pronounced dead. The driver, 30, of Patchogue, was not injured.
 
The Kia was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
