Valley Stream Man's Traffic Tantrum Leads to Arrest for Assault on Police Officer

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Valley Stream man for an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 3:42 PM in Valley Stream.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to N. Central Avenue and Ethel Street for a disturbance involving a male running in and out of traffic causing a safety concern for himself and motorists. Upon police arrival, Defendant Robert Musmacher, 41, of 43 Lutz Drive refused to comply with officer commands to exit the roadway. The defendant became violent and combative by throwing his cell phone at an officer head causing him to suffer a contusion. Officers secured the defendant and placed him under arrest. The injured officer and the  defendant were both transported to local area hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
 
Defendant Robert Musmacher is charged with Assault 2 nd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead when medically practical.
