When Mediterranean restaurant Cava opened its first Long Island location in Melville in 2021 it was an instant hit. Recently Cava added another location to the growing chain with a spot on Old Country Road in Westbury.

 

Cava replaces the old California Pizza Kitchen that used to be in this location. They share the space with the newly opened Just Salad.

 

The menu consists of build-your-own bowls that are popular with many newer food joints of differing styles (think Chipotle or your favorite Poke bowl place). You start with a base, then add dips and spreads, proteins, toppings, and dressings. You can then add side orders like hummus, pita chips, pita, and chocolate chip cookies or chocolate fudge brownie for dessert.

 

On Yelp, Shaasia L, from Westbury, gave them five stars.

 

“10/10. Food amazing service great and its a nice size restaurant,” she wrote. “It was my first time so I was so skeptical on what to get but the workers assisted me… I can't wait to go back and the pricing is worth it. MAKE SURE YOU GET PITA CHIPS THEY Are SOO GOOD!!! & you get free pita bread as a side.”

 

Nat B, from Garden City, agreed.

 

“This location is new and upcoming! Everyone is getting the hang of working there, but the service is amazing and totally worth the wait,” she wrote. “Food was delish…”
