Man Arrested after Robbing Deli and Burglarizing Businesses

Suffolk County Police today arrested a man who robbed a Shirley deli and burglarized two other
businesses in the Seventh Precinct in April.
 
Blaise Marckesano used force and injured an employee of Parkway Deli & Grocery, located at 431
William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, and stole beer on April 1 at approximately 9:30 p.m. The employee
self-transported to a doctor for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Marckesano entered the American Legion Hall Post 1533, located at 110 Mastic Beach Road in Mastic Beach, on April 13 at approximately 1:50 a.m. He returned to the business again on April 25, and broke a window at approximately 12:40 a.m. Over the course of both nights he stole cash.
 
Marckesano also entered Home Depot, located at 399 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, and stole assorted merchandise overnight on April 21.
 
Following an investigation, Marckesano was located by Seventh Squad detectives on William Floyd Parkway today at 2:24 p.m. He was arrested without incident.
 
Marckesano, 38, of 5 Corbin Ave., Shirley, was charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, all felonies, as well as two counts of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, misdemeanors.
 
He is being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 27.
