Juvenile Gang Arrested for Assault and Robbery at Broadway Mall

Six juvenile defendants were arrested for assault and robbery of two 15-year-olds, who were hit in the head and face and had a cellphone stolen from them, at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville

The Second Squad reports a Robbery Arrest that occurred on Friday, April 29, 2023 at 8:30pm in Hicksville.
 
According to Detectives, at approximately 6:06pm Officers responded to the Broadway Mall to disperse a large group of youths causing a disturbance at the fair.  While dispersing the crowd, Officers were approached by two separate unrelated victims, a juvenile male and a juvenile female, both 15 years of age and stating that they were assaulted by approximately six other juveniles who hit them about the head and face causing lacerations and substantial pain.  The juvenile female also had her cellular telephone forcibly removed from her during the assault.  When Officers observed the suspects inside the mall, they attempted to flee on foot but Officers were able to place the suspects under arrest without incident.  The two victims were transported to the Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.
 
Arrested were six Juvenile Defendants: three males 16, two females 16, and one 12-year-old female.  Each are charged with one count of Assault 3rd Degree and two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree. 
 
All Juvenile Defendants will be arraigned in Family Court on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
