Horror film fans can celebrate a double feature of film and music fun on Friday the 13th of May at the Bellmore Playhouse as it hosts Horror Hop at the Playhouse. This special one-night-only event kicks off at 7 p.m. with horror shorts from independent filmmakers, followed by a director Q&A, a reception, live musical performances, and dance party in the theater’s upstairs Loft lounge.
Musical acts include the punk band the Knottie Boys and Nightshift, a Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute band. Zombie makeup artists will also be on hand to enhance guests' looks upon request, while DJs spinning horror punk, dark wave, industrial music, and haunting sounds set the mood. Guests can enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a champagne toast and shop horror-related vendors. A cash bar will be available.
Horror Hop at the Playhouse is being produced by TC of Nocturnal Creatures NY and Anthony Labriola of Scared for Your Liife. TC described the event as a fun nightlife concept combining “a movie theater experience with a full night of entertainment that includes live music, djs, and vendors.” He added that Horror Hop at the Playhouse is for anyone who “enjoys dancing, socializing and has a deep appreciation for fashion, art, film, and music.”
