School Bus Collision in East Meadow Leaves Children and Driver Injured
The Public Information Office reports the details of a Vehicular Accident that occurred on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 3:39 pm in East Meadow.
According to officers, a 2009 Toyota pickup truck traveling southbound on Old Westbury Road, was in a collision with a 2005 school bus in the vicinity of Melanie Drive.
The 66-year-old male operator of the school bus and 13 of the 41 children on board, ages kindergarten through 5 th Grade, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The 57-year-old operator of the Toyota pickup truck suffered injuries to his hip and was transported to an area hospital, currently listed in stable condition.
NCPD Motor Carrier unit responded to inspect the vehicles. No criminality has
been reported.
