Four Legged Friends is a weekly column by Bariann Browne, lifelong Long Island resident and communications coordinator for North Shore Animal League America. Bariann’s weekly posts highlight the League’s amazing animals, just a small example of the thousands of loving, loyal pets waiting for forever homes at your local animal shelter.
Biscuit is a fan favorite at the League. Who could resist this super fluffy 1-year old male Chow/Husky mix? Biscuit has tons of energy and loves to play, but this young pup can be a bit bossy so we recommend a home with children over 12. Although Biscuit is not a fan of cats, this big bundle of energy is learning to play well with others and looks forward to meet and greets with other dogs. Always photogenic, Biscuit likes to spend his time chasing tennis balls and getting his ears scratched. Biscuit's adoption number is V29601. Good news, Long Island - Biscuit has been adopted! He's happy & healthy in his new forever home!
Willy is a very special kitty. He is an adult and as sweet as can be: mellow, friendly, and loves attention. He is a little bundle of personality and so adorable as you can see! Willy is looking for a quiet household to enjoy his new life in and requires some minimal medical care. Willy's special needs means his perfect match is a patient cat lover who sees that his sweet soul is as bright as his curious eye. Willy's adoption number is D48656. Good news, Long Island! Willy has been adopted, and loves his new fur-ever home!
Aviva, our 3 year-old pit mix has garnered quite a bit of attention with her beautiful gaze and deep blue fur. A friendly and approachable girl, Aviva presents herself as intelligent and curious. She will do best in a home with children over 12 and would like to meet potential canine companions prior to adoption. Aviva's adoption number is D48477.
Good news, Long Island - Aviva has been adopted! In a note from her new owner Jessica L, we've learned that Aviva is happy & healthy with her forever home!
"Hi! I just wanted to share these pictures of our beautiful Aviva. We adopted her on May 5th. She immediately warmed up to us and has already given us so much happiness and love. We are always getting stopped on our walks (even have had multiple cars pull over) just to tell us how beautiful she is. Absolutely everything about her is just perfect heart emoticon Thank you so much for bringing her into our lives. We are forever grateful!"
Biscuit, Willy, and Aviva are all waiting for their forever homes at our adoption center in Port Washington. To adopt one of these amazing animals, or for more information, please email us at adoptions@animalleague.org or call us at (516) 883-7575. See more adoptable cats and dogs at www.animalleague.org!
