Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to lure two 11-year-old girls in a Long Island neighborhood.

According to Nassau County Police, authorities are on the lookout for a man who reportedly attempted to lure two 11-year-old girls in a residential neighborhood in Long Island. The incident occurred on May 5, Friday, at approximately 3:20 p.m. in Wantagh, as the girls were walking home from school along Twin Lane North.
 
As per police reports, a gray SUV pulled up next to the girls and the driver told them to approach his vehicle, but the girls refused and ran away. The suspect's vehicle was last spotted heading towards Wantagh Avenue.
 
Police describe the man as white, in his 30s to 40s, with a heavy build, short black hair, and a short beard. Nassau County detectives urge anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
