Double Tragedy on Ocean Parkway: Fatal Crash Claims Two Lives
Tragedy struck on Sunday morning, May 14, 2023, when a fatal crash occurred on the Ocean Parkway in the town of Babylon, Suffolk County. According to reports, the New York State Troopers responded to the accident just before 10:30 AM.
The vehicle involved in the accident, a 2013 Custom Assembly Convertible, was traveling eastbound on the Ocean Parkway, east of Cedar Beach when it veered off the roadway and hit the guide wire. Sadly, both the driver, Daniel Fabrizio, aged 58, and the passenger, Diane Seghposs, aged 58, both residents of Smithtown, died of injuries sustained at the scene.
In response to the accident, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU), and Forensic Identification Unit (FIU) rushed to the scene to carry out investigations and gather evidence. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, and authorities are urging anyone with information or who witnessed the accident to come forward and assist with investigations.
