Nassau County's 'Project 21' Nets Two Arrests for Selling Tobacco to Minors

During Nassau County's "Project 21" initiative, two men were arrested for selling tobacco products to minors at Levittown establishments.

The Eighth Precinct Problem Oriented Police (POP) Unit report the arrest of 2 males during the “Project 21” initiative, which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors. The initiative was conducted on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 6:00 pm in Nassau County.
 
According to officers, the following individuals were arrested at the following establishments with the assistance of underage agents:
 
     Gurpreet Basra, 34, of 182 Colonial Springs, Wheatly Heights sold tobacco products to a         minor at Metropolis located at 3110 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown.
 
     Rajani Kumar Patel, 44, of 86-30 St. James Avenue, Elmhurst sold tobacco products to a         minor at Andrea Stationary located at 628 Wantagh Avenue, Levittown.
 
The above defendants are charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree. They were issued Appearance Tickets returnable on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
