Brooklyn Man Arrested After Crashing Stolen Dodge Durango in Hicksville

A Brooklyn man, Christopher Gilbert, was arrested after crashing a stolen 2023 Dodge Durango into a utility pole in Hicksville and fleeing the scene.

The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:45 am in Hicksville.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to AAAA-1 Towing located at 34 Charlotte Avenue for an auto accident. Upon police arrival, officers observed a stolen Black 2023 Dodge Durango had struck a utility pole and driver had fled scene.
 
Subsequent to the investigation, Defendant Christopher Gilbert, 28, of 1280 Saint Johns Place was located nearby and placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.
 
Defendant Christopher Gilbert is charged with Grand Larceny 2 nd Degree, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3 rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4 th Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, May 17, 2024 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
