How the Other Half Loves: A Play for Long Island
We have been removed from the days of How the Other Half Lives and the slums of New York City that flourished in the 1930s - now, we get to experience a tale quite different. Alan Ayckbourn’s How the Other Half Loves will be presented on Long Island by the Hampton Theatre Company. Founded in 1984, this company located in Quogue Community Hall at 125 Jessup Avenue, brings an exciting new event to Long Island.
This hilariously charming play follows the tale of three couples and an affair that sends every character into a state of perpetual confusion. The play follows three married couples, The Fosters, The Philips and The Featerstones. The action takes place between two hilarious dinner parties given on consecutive nights. The couples do not have much in common except the fact that Fiona Foster and Bob Philips who are having an affair unbeknown to their partners. Mary and William Featherstone have no idea what is happening but they are invited to both parties. If you are confused now, wait till you see how these duped characters react.
The Hampton Theatre Company offers this amazing performance directed by Diana Murbury for a very affordable price.
