I had initially planned to have a 'regular' themed Memorial Day Weekend Column. In fact, you can find one such post I put together for the Disabled Military Group on Disaboom -- a disabilities site -- at (

). You can also find my past Memorial Day weekend columns at (

Our First President George Washington Said

"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportionate to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their country."

Definition Of A Veteran

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, National Guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The "United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."

That is debt of honor about which far too many people in positions of authority no longer understand.
